Butterscotch is 3/4" solid Northern Red Oak — one piece of wood, top to bottom. Sand it back and refinish it several times over its life. Properly installed and looked after, a floor like this outlasts the people who chose it.

This is the one real advantage solid still holds over engineered. There's no thin veneer to sand through — scratches, pets and decades can be taken back to bare wood more than once.
Northern Red Oak
Around 1290 Janka — hard enough for family traffic, with open grain that takes stain evenly and disguises wear rather than showcasing it.
Nail-down installation
Tongue & groove, nailed to a wood subfloor with glue assist. Solid boards move with humidity, so they need acclimation on site before a single nail goes in.
Where solid doesn't belong: not below grade, and not over a concrete slab. Basements and slab-on-grade need engineered. If that's your space, we'll point you at the engineered Tosca lines instead of selling you the wrong floor. Solid vs engineered →
