Impressive Floors Classic Red Oak · Solid Hardwood
Solid red oak. Sand it back a lifetime from now.
Algoma is 3/4" solid red oak, wire brushed to a deep dark brown with black undertones, and milled in Canada. Solid through and through — there is no veneer to wear away, so it can be sanded and refinished repeatedly across decades.

The floor that outlives its finish
3/4" of solid oak leaves plenty of material above the tongue. Scratched, dented or simply out of fashion, it can be sanded back to bare wood and refinished in any colour — repeatedly, over the life of the house.
Two widths, three characters
Available 3-1/4" and 4-1/4" wide, and in Premium Select (minimal variation), Select & Better (some natural character) or Exclusive (pronounced knots, mineral streaks and colour movement). The grade changes the room more than the width does.
Canadian red oak
Milled in Canada from a hard, open-grained species that takes stain evenly and hides everyday wear well. Nail-down or glue over tongue and groove, backed 35 years residential.
Worth knowing: Solid hardwood moves with the seasons. It needs a wooden subfloor at or above grade — not a basement, and not over concrete without a proper subfloor — and 35–55% relative humidity year round, which in an Ontario winter means running a humidifier. It isn’t waterproof, and it should acclimatise in the room for several days before installation. Ask us what suits your subfloor →
