Pine, ready to finish.
Solid pine holds a hinge screw and takes paint or stain. The 5/8″ stock is the standard thickness for interior jambs.

Sides, head and stops.
Two 81.5″ sides and a 40″ head make up the frame. Three stoppers at 3/8″ × 7/8″ finish the door stop on all three edges.

One kit, one door.
The pieces come sized as a set, so there is no ripping stock to width on site. Cut to the rough opening and hang.
Set. Shim. Secure.
